My name is Irene. Just Irene. It may be my real name. It may be not. The url address of this blog actually represents my name. See if you can guess it.
I grew up in a developing country in Asia, then migrated to a developed country in the South Pacific. I have citizenship status in one country, and permanent residency status in another. Yet I feel no particular alliance to either. I know what my ethnicity is, but not what my cultural identity is.
I’ve always wanted to be a writer, mainly because I enjoy writing (and some say I am good at it), but also because writing has often proved to be a cathartic experience for me, almost therapeutic. But I am often uninspired and/or feel like what I’ve written is too crap to be considered a work of literature, so I resort to writing in my diary. Over the past years, my diary writing has changed into journal writing, and then into blogging. Perhaps one day, I will pursue my dream of writing fiction again, but for now, this is what I do.
I’m still not sure how anonymous or how private I wish this blog to be, so we’ll see how it goes. I have gone through many different blogs in the past (Diaryland, Opendiary, Blogspot, Livejournal, etc.), so hopefully this one will outlive the others.
So welcome, to http://bloodysharp.wordpress.com/. Welcome to the mind of yet another stranger in the world.
